Plastic Injection Molding

Injection moulding presses molten polymer into a machined cavity where it cools into a finished part. Once the tool exists the cost per part collapses, which is why it takes over from machining and casting somewhere between a few hundred and a few thousand units depending on part size.

FAQ

Preguntas frecuentes

At what quantity does injection moulding pay off?

As a rough rule, moulding beats machining above 500–1,000 parts per year for small components and above 2,000 for larger housings. We model the crossover against your actual volumes in the quote.

Do you provide mould flow analysis?

Yes. Moldex3D flow, cool and warp analysis is standard on production tools so fill balance, weld lines and warpage are corrected in the design rather than at T1.

Who owns the mould?

You do. Moulds are custom built for your part, and we can store, maintain and if required ship the tool to another moulder on request.
