Hard Anodizing

Hard anodizing thickens the oxide layer into a dense, ceramic-like coating that approaches the wear resistance of hardened steel while staying lightweight. It is used on sliding surfaces, valve bodies, pneumatic components and any aluminium part that rubs against something else.

FAQ

よくあるご質問

Where is hard anodizing essential?

On aluminium surfaces that slide, rotate or seal: cylinder bores, valve spools, wear plates and guides. Without it, soft aluminium galls and wears quickly.

Can hard anodized parts be machined afterwards?

Yes, but only on masked or uncoated areas, or by diamond grinding. Because the coating is very hard, we plan the process so critical fits are either masked or finished after coating.

Is it suitable for food contact?

Sealed hard anodizing is used in food processing equipment, but you should confirm the specific application against the relevant standard before production.
