Vacuum Infusion

Vacuum infusion pulls resin through dry reinforcement under vacuum, so the laminate is compacted before it is wet out. The result is a higher and more consistent fibre fraction, lower void content, reduced styrene emissions and far better repeatability than hand lay-up, at a moderate tooling cost.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Infusion or hand lay-up?

Infusion costs more to set up but gives a stronger, lighter and more repeatable part, so it pays off from roughly 50 parts upward or whenever structural performance is specified. Hand lay-up remains cheaper for one-offs.

What can go wrong with infusion?

Dry spots and voids usually come from leaks or poor flow media placement. We validate the lay-up and flow strategy on a first article before series production starts.

Can infusion make structural parts?

Yes. Infused laminates with engineered fibre orientation are used for load-bearing panels, and we design the stacking sequence to your stiffness and strength targets.
