Sheet Metal Laser Cutting

A fibre laser cuts sheet by melting and blowing material away along a programmed path, producing complex outlines without tooling. Because there is no hard tool, design changes cost nothing, which suits prototype panels, brackets and enclosures as well as repeat production runs.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What file format should I send?

A DXF of the flat pattern is ideal, ideally accompanied by the 3D model so we can verify bend deductions. We can also unfold native SolidWorks or Inventor sheet metal parts for you.

How close can holes be to a bend?

As a starting point keep hole edges at least the material thickness plus the bend radius away from the bend line. Closer features can distort, and we flag them during DFM review.

Can you cut pre-painted sheet?

Yes, with a suitable laser film or a protective coating applied first. We usually advise cutting bare and painting after for the best edge quality.
