DLP 3D Printing

DLP projects a full layer image at once instead of tracing it with a laser, which makes it faster and allows finer pixel resolution on small parts. It is used for dental and audiology models, micro-fluidics and any part where the smallest feature is measured in tenths of a millimetre.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

DLP or SLA for small parts?

DLP typically wins on parts smaller than 50 mm because the projected pixel grid gives finer XY resolution and each layer exposes in one shot, so the build is quicker. SLA is more economical for larger build volumes.

Is DLP suitable for dental work?

Yes. Dental model, splint, surgical guide and castable resins are widely printed on DLP machines, and we validate the print parameters against the resin supplier data sheet.

How small a feature can you print?

In practice around 0.15 mm, limited by the pixel size and the resin behaviour. We advise on orientation and supports for any part approaching that limit.
