Bead Blasting

Bead blasting fires fine glass beads at the surface to produce a uniform satin texture. It removes tool marks, blends machined surfaces and gives parts a consistent matte appearance, which is why it is standard preparation before anodizing and painting.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Will bead blasting change dimensions?

It removes a few microns at most, which matters only on very tight tolerances. Where a fit is critical we mask that area or schedule the finish before final machining.

Can it be used on plastic?

Yes, at lower pressure. Bead blasting gives moulded and printed plastic parts a uniform matte look and can hide layer lines on 3D prints.

Does it remove scratches?

Fine scratches disappear; deeper gouges get blended but remain visible as soft shadows. We flag any part where the damage is too deep to hide.
